God only knows what I'd be without you!

While you were gone

As with postsecret, I am also an avid fan of found magazine. Since coming across the website about a year ago I try to remember to scout the streets for anything interesting. Being a naturally curious person anyway, this is not too difficult. Any stray pieces of paper tend to catch my attention as they make their merry way away from their creator. The most interesting thing I found was a (cautiously detailed) rescue plan/map of Yeovil, which I have sent into Found. Watch this space for its publication...

A few of my favourite items from the found website:

and possibly my favourite, entitled 'The perfect note'. And it truly is.

Today I went to M's house. We lunched in the nearby cafe on toasties and tea and lounged in her hot tub. Afterwards she showed me her beautiful (handmade!) book of her illustrated quotations, used for her art foundation course, hopefully I'll scan some of her illustrations on soon. After coming home I killed some time with a little collage fun. They should be bigger for the full effect but you can get an idea:

'I hold you closer, miles away,
inventing love, until the calls of nightjars

interrupt and turn what was to come, was certain,

into memory. The stars are filming us for no one.' Miles Away-Carol Ann Duffy.

'I know I am but summer to your heart, and not the full four seasons of the year.'-Edna St. Vincent Millay

'I could have lost myself
In rough blue waters
In your eyes

And I miss you still'-Joshua Radin-Winter

What might have been lost...

Drink up baby

...She decided to erase you, almost as a lark...

"We sat grown quiet at the name of love;
We saw the last embers of daylight die,
And in the trembling blue-green of the sky
A moon, worn as if it had been a shell
Washed by time's waters as they rose and fell
About the stars and broke in days and years.

I had a thought for no one's but your ears:
That you were beautiful, and that I strove
To love you in the old high way of love;
That it had all seemed happy, and yet we'd grown
As weary-hearted as that hollow moon." Yeats-Adam's Curse

Say, Say, Say

One of my best friends returns from his travels in India in about a week, cue great excitement and hilarity.

Bon Iver reminds me of him since he insisted on singing it in my ear whilst trying to sleep on a kitchen floor the night before my birthday!

(aren't things always better when they are a little spontaneous, raw, unpolished?)

Home

Home is beautiful.

I miss my dogs when I'm at university:

And finally, I have just finished reading the Life of Pi, a book that has been lounging on my straining bookshelf for quite some time. I recommend it to all.

"What a terrible thing it is to botch a fairwell. I am a person who believes in form, in the harmony of order. Where we can, we must give things a meaningful shape. For example-I wonder-could you tell my jumbled story in 100 chapters, not one more, not one less? I'll tell you, that's one thing I hate about my nickname, the way that number runs on forever. It's important in life to conclude things properly. Otherwise you are left with words you should have said but never did, and your heart is heavy with remorse." --Yann Martel

We Used To Vacation

I've been flirting with the idea of a tumblr blog for a few days rather than carrying this on, but I think blogspot is more suited to me. Before posting something new i'm going to import my tumblr post so that it fits with the flow/chronological order, and then post today's update stragiht afterwards. This post, therefore, should be dated April 4th...

This is by the amazing Rob Ryan...

Last night was certainly one to remember. A West country venture of friends and wine slowly deteriorated into wildly embarrassing conversations, nauseatingly neon drinks, and what is possibly the worst club our country contains.

I loved every second.

I spent the night on a single bed with two other people and a pedigree Dobermann. The morning consisted of ‘only the finest coffee at the cafe d’ ________’ and a run-in with the closest thing I’ve seen to a womble outside of Wimbledon common.

Me and Juice took lunch in our laddered tights and last night’s clothes after purchasing shoes to cover her bare toe and to replace my heels, earning ourselves a few disgusted stares from the Yobville middle classes.

Please take me on more of these adventures…

Heartbreaker

'Heartbreaker, I'll break ya'

Last night the girls came round for texx mexx madness. Cue Guacamole, salsa, sour cream, and most importantly, the relaying of all the makings and breakings of our hearts of the last few months.

Excuse me if I appear to be singing this at all times, it's been dancing around my head for at least four days, its now on repeat in an attempt to get it out of my system (though secretly I hope it stays there). This remix in particular...
